wow not much has happened since june umm what else? im not that boring of a person. things have happend hmpf lots of things have happend hmpf but but but i don remember xD i hope no one i noe reads this cozzz its shite. not even sure if im gona post it. i think this blog had potential to be the best in the world but sumtimes in life potential aint nothing without pot and a tent. geddit? pot? as in drugs? geddiiit? omg lame holy carap. sorie bout that one. that was the ghost who typed it. Debate Prelims - Day 2

Where was I?

Oh yeah, Day 2! Ahh for Day 2, I decided to tag along in Mr. Lyndon's car cos the guys kept saying that he drives like Michael Schumacher. He let me down though..tsk tsk haha.

Jah Izzati bugged Mr. Lyndon to play her Shayne Ward CD on the car's CD player. And damn, his voice hardwired itself into the back of my head. The car ride was a stark contrast of the car ride with Mr. Bobby. It was quiet, really quiet. Well, at least that was the case for Mr. Lyndon and I. Everyone who sat at the back were noisy and they talked about...ahh I can't remember! To cut it short, there were non-stop giggles and occasional screechings. It was almost like we were in two seperate cars! haha. But I was really worn out, and the short nap I had felt awesome =p

Blablabla, let's skip the formalities. Mr Lyndon told us to go back to our original team line-up. We knew we had to come up with a good showing, especially against the home team who has nothing to lose with 0 wins under their belt.

To be honest, the SMSA team gave us a good run for our money. I just can't fathom how on earth they didn't win any of their matches. Their 3rd Speaker was kind of like a female version of Hulio (Julius). Passionate, loud and quick-witted.

But..we won :p

It wasn't quite over yet as we needed a favour from MD. We needed them to beat MS for us to gain 2nd place outright. Their debate started a tad late thus I was able to catch its closing moments. It was kind of nerve-wrecking for us as well. And when the results were announced, I couldn't believe I was happy while seeing Mustafa so overjoyed lol (kding man).

And yet another fun long car ride with Mr. Bobby! This time even better. The mixture of relief, excitement and satisfaction was orgasmic lol. We were really ecstatic and laughter filled the car all the way back home. I think I rode the wave of euphoria really well, cos once I reached home and everything settled down, I literally crashed onto my bed!

Debate Prelims - Day 1

Since I'm in the midst of AS and life's been relatively dull, I might as well write down a more detailed post of PTEK's journey in the 13th Brunei Darussalam Interschool Senior Level English Debating Competition.

But before that, I'd like to apologize for the poor picture quality. Twas taken by my phone's camera haha.

Anyways...

I remember our very first meeting/training session when we found out that we were in Group2, apparently the group-of-death. At that very instant, we thought we were screwed. We had the defending champions MD, MS and the host school SMSA in our group. We knew we had a problem. I mean, we're a new sixth form centre venturing into our very first national competition and here's what we got.

For the prelims, we basically had 3 debates in two days with the top2 in each group advancing to the semis. For the prepared debate we were up against MS. The other two impromptu debates - a debate in which we only have 1 hour to prepare everything - were against MD and SMSA.

The training went on for weeks, even swallowing up some of my first term holidays. Mr. Bobby and Mr. Lyndon headed most of the prelims training sessions and guided us very well. It was very much a team effort! We went on and on discussing about the same topic for hours at a time by squeezing every little drop of idea out of our brains. We had a crapload of points and found it hard to cram everything within our designated 6 minutes of speaking time.

The topic? 'This House believes rejects Free Trade' and we were opposing that motion.

The core team members were Jarrod, Julius, Arafath, Azeemah, Jah Izzati and myself. Notice the term 'core' I used? Cos that's what's written down on paper but the whole team was more than that. Lots of the research, brainstorming, awesome ideas and constructive criticisms also came from Vernon and Sheila who I thought helped us a lot! Heck, we even had our own 'Simon Cowell'. (I'm not gona mention his name here though=p)

The day finally came. I can't recall being nervous, honestly. I was just glad that I got to skip classes *grins*.

We had twelve people in the school's entourage for that day. It was us six, Hafiz, Rafi, Sheila (chairperson), Vernon (timekeeper), Mr. Lyndon and Mr. Bobby.

But the team got very little recognition from the school. Well that's what we (and the teachers) thought. Maybe they thought we were pushovers and weren't worth the effort. It wasn't rocket science to figure it out, we weren't even provided an official transportation. We're not that dumb either to not notice all the extra support and attendance we got from the admin only came when we reached the semis and finals, especially the finals. Ah well...Driving and layan-ing talkative teens for 400km+ in two days can get tiring. Anyways, Mr. Lyndon and Mr. Bobby did a great job in that haha.

The competition's all the way in KB and I don't really fancy flattening my butt on long car rides. Well I don't mind if I'm driving though lol. But I have to admit, that that was the shortest 100km+ car ride I've ever been in. Jarrod, Julius, Arafath and I tagged along in Mr. Bobby's car and we had a blast talking about random topics. Topics ranging from religion to sports cars!

We arrived at...11.30? or was it 11? Anyways, we were due to start at 12. But that's 'Brunei time', so we kinda guessed that the first debate was gna start sometime around 1. And hell it did! There must be a huge time difference between the Brunei-Muara and Belait Districts.

For the prepared debate, it was 3 guys against 3 gals. Jarrod went first, I was the second and Hulio, I mean Julius, was our third. The debate went quite well for us, and yes we won (hahaha inda excited lagi). But we were abso-fuckingly ecstatic by then! MS gave a good fight but it was 1 win out of 1 for us.

Had some refreshments soon after that. We had a quick 'post-mortem' session on our first debate and discussed the team line-up for the 2nd debate. You see, there's this rule which states that we have to get at least 5 of the 6 team core members to debate. So Julius and I voluntarily dropped out, pushing Arafath and Azeemah into the first and second speaker's role respectively.

When we found out our first impromptu topic, I knew we were in deep shit. Consequently, we lost against MD. The fact that the topic was against us ain't an excuse, but it didn't help us either. But hey, MD did well!

Remember when I mentioned about 'Brunei time' earlier in my post? We were 'supposed' to finish with all the formalities by 5.30. I reached home 15 minutes before 9. There has got to be a time difference between the Brunei Muara and Belait Districts ey? haha.

For half of the journey home, we carefully calculated our odds of reaching the semis.

MD had two wins, MS and us have a win apiece and SMSA were still empty-handed. We somehow needed to at least get the outright 2nd place by the next day. We were going head to head against SMSA, while MD will go against MS.

But hey, 1 win out of the first day was probably almost more than what he had initially bargained for. The chance of reaching the semis was still alive!

The rest of the way home, we talked about cars and..Russell Peters haha!

Damn, that was a helluva good time!

Unbelievable...we won the damn thing! And yes, it hasnt settled in yet. AS is next week, so i doubt that I'll have enough time to even digest it.

I'll keep this post short. I'll make a longer and more detailed post next time.

Note: This is going to be one helluva random post.

The spherical object to my right says that its 30 minutes past midnight and I'm tied to a chair. My fingers can barely move thanks to the arctic-like conditions. The room's pitch black and to add to the eerie surroundings, Eric Clapton's 'Tears in Heaven' is playing in the background. My only hope of survival lies on the rectangular beam of light that I'm currently staring at...and I think it's called a monitor.

But seriously, I think it truly is my saviour for tonight haha. I can't sleep..I just can't. I think it's just my brain finally accepting the fact that coffee is indeed destined to keep us humans up all night. Sigh everyone else is asleep...except for Nadzri. But again, he's on MSN so the fact remains that my monitor/pc is indeed my saviour for tonight, the knight for to-knight hahaha ok lame. Hey, I warned you so don't complain. Prior to typing 'www.blogger.com' on my opera browser, I had a thousand and one things in mind. Okay, I'll cut down on the exaggeration. I had a hundred and one things in mind. I just..I just lost my train of thought:/. Fine, I'll stop lying. Just like every other second of a day, I have n-o-t-h-i-n-g in my mind.

Man..this is definitely social suicide. Whatever, anything to make me fall asleep would do. Curses on me for having a lazy Sunday (but I needed it okay).

Astrologically, anything that lies on the +08:00 GMT is already in a new week. So, let me say hi to the Monday Blues..NOT. I'm due to have only an hour worth of lessons later ha-ha-HA! And tuition for today is called off (this time, it wasn't my call). But my first exam paper is in a little more than a fortnight away and the debate nationals semi-finals is tomorrow. So...hi Monday Blues.

Don't you think it's funnyyyyyy that,

Everytime you ask a 7 year old kid the million dollar question of 'what do you want to be when you grow up/what's your ambition?' they always, I repeat, they always, I repeat again, always have a bloody firm answer. But when you ask a teenager or anyone that's on the verge of going to university, they just can't answer that (I'm guilty of this too okay). Most of them will answer with an 'I dunno'. Okay okay for the sake of maintaining justice, some of them do give an answer but there's always that hint of hesitation in their voices. Obviously I was once a 7 year old myself. The frequent answers that my friends and I would usually come up with are like the universal ones, you know, like teachers, pilots and doctors. The more complicated ones wanted to be a...lawyer. But hey, my first ambition was to be a doctor. But once hair started to spurt out of my armpits, I decided that my favourite colour was not red. I also fell in love with... travelling and all of a sudden, a pilot took the front seat of my mind. Having an uncle who flies, I've listened to most of his twist and tales. But I just can't picture myself as a married man and being constantly away from my family. Plus, I'm quite fidgety. I just cannot stand being stationary for more than a few minutes.

It's high time for me to make up my mind though. Being an A-level student, I've ruled out most of the cards from the deck through my subject selection and left out a few cards lying face down on the table. Let's just hope that once I flip that chosen card of mine, it'll be a good one :)

Aite I'm a tad sleepy now. Haha I guess I could use this blog as an alternative to my old method..you know, counting sheeps?

Have you listened to Dear God - Avenged Sevenfold? I've never been a big fan of them but this song is something else. I stumbled upon this gem of a song a few months ago and I personally think it has very powerful lyrics if you miss someone dearly. You know, one of those songs which you listen to in the car and can make your mind wander off which will make you seemingly drive the car in auto-pilot mode haha.

Debate Nationals:
We've gone through to the semis! It's more of a relief honestly, since we're a new school (so new, that we didn't have a standard uniform until last week) and billed as the underdogs in what many assumed as the group of death with MD the defending champions, MS and SMSA the host school in our group.

But our victory in our first match was a massive confidence-booster and although we lost our second match, we weren't going to make 400+ kms in two days and hours of missed lessons go down the drain just like that so we presented, in my opinion, our best performance for the last debate, got the win and earned ourselves a date with PTEM on the 28th :)

The ride back home was full of laughter :D

I'm absolutely glad that the week's coming to an end though. I've got nothing major in store for next week, thank god for that. But I still have the debate thingy majiggy to concentrate on. We've gone this far, so we might as well make the most of it *grins*

I'm 18 and I'm already starting to feel really old.

Maybe it's the freedom and sense of responsibility that I've gained ever since I got my driving license, maybe it's the prospect of entering uni soon while seeing more and more of my friends enter uni...or maybe it's just the ever-increasing beard-growing region on my chin. Ah well..so if I made anyone older than I am feel old, I'm sorry, but you'll forever be older than I am 0=)

Sorry, twas just a random thought haha. Moving on...

My holidays have been a breeze. But I've yet to have a, what I call a 'lazy day' at home. You know, one of those days where you stay in bed till noon and have a 3 pm lunch followed by a movie marathon that's accompanied by some snacks and a handful of fizzy drinks. I don't think I can even afford a day like that anymore. And yet another reason for me to feel old!

But hey I'm not complaining. It's been a decent, laid-back holiday anyway. A few schoolworks here and there, hours in the gym, a couple of debate meetings, some outings with my girl, one or two wacky moments with my buds, a lil dose of golf and some good family time, all comfortably tailored to fit in within the last 7 days!

Ok I'll stop yapping and move on to something which involves some pictures. Dad and I have been bringing my cousin Hazim to the mini par-3 golf course to get him started. It certainly doesn't hurt that he has a knack of taking pictures and damn he takes awesome pictures, considering his only weapon is a conventional sony digital camera.

I also had a family gathering a few nights ago. Ngah Hj Talip wanted to celebrate his retirement and his children's excellent grades in recent exams. Twas a rather large gathering, well sadang. Lots arent here currently but it's definitely the largest gathering ever since my cousin's wedding mid last year. Had a few good laughs (big ones too) so it was all good (Y).

Finally, holidays!

The last term was quite an eventful one. Twas hectic but full of fun moments! While some are goin overseas for their holidays, I reckon I could use this 10-day break to catch up with my studies, get set for the upcoming exams at the same time recharge me batteries :)

Yes Lina, I've lost my blogging mojo..but I'll try to gain it back =p

As you read this, I might be in a place where I haven't been in for a few weeks and dearly miss - my grandma's house - watching a football match with close relatives, a football match which I'm sure will be the focal point of many football fans in Brunei tonight. (Liverpool sucks)

Armed with a new haircut as of tonight, I can't help but feel excited and count every second till the short 10-day school break arrives. Haha I'm kidding. But I feel like I could really use a good break after a hectic fortnight or so thats worn me out mentally.

Nina and I have been doin' realllly goood =D We've been busy with school stuffs lately, but it's amazing how at the end of the day, we're able to lean onto each other, have a good night's sleep and still have time to go out a few times a week :) I love you!

I just feel like writing up a post tonight. Maybe its due to the fact that I've a rather interesting week ahead of me. Maybe its due to the fact that I know I won't have enough time to blog within the next few days..or maybe its the song that Im listening to right now hahaha.

BGIC's in a few days! Im done with my opening speech but I haven't even touched anything on my resolution, that is if I decide to make one. I don't have to but obviously itll be less fun if I dont. My never ending supply of homework (awu Santi, nada 'S'), assignments and presentation aint helping my cause.

Nadzri will be back for a week on Friday. Dude, you need to write up a post when you're back at home. Haha i miss talking with you bro.

When I asked him napa ia balik at such an awkward time of the year, his answer was 'mom wants me home'. Like damn, how cute is that? lol. So girls, he can be sweet at times. Wachu waiting for? He has a good taste in music too btw. Here's one of his favourite tracks:

Damn, I don't know where to start. I'm not gona let this blog die and fade away just like that. And those annoying fireworks are starting to really annoy me hahaha. I can take care of the loud bangs with my music and headphone but there's nothing much I can do about those annoying vibrations that comes with it.

The BGIC fever is starting to kick in and I can't believe that it's less than 3 weeks away. I gotta step up on my preparations or else I'm totally fried! I'm representing Denmark under the Environmental committee =)

Life's been really hectic for me lately and I barely have enough time for golf nowadays :/ got a 3rd place in a recent tournament, so at least my game's not going down haha.

I just had to annoy you in the library AJ, sorry hahaha. And I made Nina to listen to that Madagascar2 song =p ah man it's so addictive! and plus, we have an inside joke pasal motomoto :D

Last Sunday, Amali and I went to the airport at noon to see off Jeng who's gone back to Brizzy. Had a brief yet great night out with him the previous night. We went out to eat, had a crazy stint on the highway and last but not least, pulled a surprise on Nina ;)

That Sunday afternoon, Amali, Arun and I went to ICC for the education thingy majiggy. I think the three of us, together with Qays, pissed off some people by taking too much time under the HRD booth lol.

We went for a movie in Seri Q-lap afterwards and look what we saw on the public toilets' doors. Pure discrimination =p

School's been reallly hectic. Hw's are piling up like crazy. But hey, I've been enjoying the classes and there's just something about the Katok school that enables me to concentrate more compared to MD last year. Or maybe it's just my state of mind.

I finally have a life. haha kidding.

Sigh my results were quite disappointing. At least I have another shot at it =/ I have feasible excuses but I won't use it. I promise I'll do much better next time around!

And I'm totally knackered. The past two weeks or so have gone by really fast. I was only at home when I needed to take my shower and to sleep. In fact, I didn't even have enough time to miss the lack of internet connection at home. Well, all of this ain't a bad thing since I've had heaps of fun and a good deal of the time was spent on academic-related and self-improvement activities anyway, except for this:

Im on the phone with Nina right now. Nina, shes been such a blessing to me. I'm much much happier now thanks to her and she's always there to usher me on through my problems. And yes Nina, you have a non-lame sense of humour too =p although you can thank me for that lol. I love you tambi!

Anyways, I have to run off now. Another busy day! Ill make a longer post nanti, this post is just to keep the blog alive =)

New Year's Eve BBQ

To me, family gatherings have always brought a unique sense of serenity and peace in mind that anyone would love to have especially after a long year. So it's very fitting that I celebrated my New Year's Eve with my family on my dad's side. A BBQ/Steamboat-whatever gathering lol.

Well yeah sometimes that's how I see it, 'just another day'. But nyeh, it shouldn't be that way. New Year's eve has always been fun to me. It doesn't hurt to celebrate :D I just don't get excited over these stuffs as much as I used to. Maybe it's one of the side effects of being 18? Not. hahaha.

First of all, I wanna wish everyone a Merry Xmas. I hope I'm not late haha.

We had a last minute all-guys outing this afternoon. Haha last minute plans work for us! =p

So it was Jeng, Arun, Amali and yours truly, although Jeng joined us later in the afternoon. Everytime Arun, Amali and Yusof go out together they tend to do something stupid lol. So this afternoon they did something stupid again, although it was 'less' stupid this time.

We wore Santa hats around gadong! haha.

Then Jeng came and we went to Kiulap to play pool, something we havent done in ages!

And since Arun had to go home early, he dropped us off in Gadong and after Jeng and Amali were done bullying me, we headed off to cheezbox and stayed there till 10 or so. Had a really nice guy-to-guy talk with them. Lots of catching up and reminiscing. Damn, I feel old now haha.

I notice that I'm not the only one short on updates nowadays =p Well its completely understandable since I'm sure most of the other bloggers are soaked in the holiday mood as well.

JENG, we need to go jalan man. With all ze others, since most of them are back already. Sorry I didn't make it the other day, I had my reasons okay man =p I'll make it up the next time, jalan soon ah? and gym ah, next week ah? We keep delaying it.

I think mom's not feeling well....she's been bringing us out to eat everyday lately. And I don't that that trend's ready to stop since she has plans for tomorrow too. Not only that, she's actually asking me advice regarding restaurants, where to&where not to eat. Lampuh ni..mati matiii hahaha.

Oh I just got a call from DeeJay. My phone's fixed! hahaha its barely a month old and its already rusak. And it took them almost a week to repair it. Damn.

Yes awu I haven't been updating much, but that doesn't mean that my holidays have been boring and mundane. In fact, its been the opposite! Total opposite!

My holidays have been great, the last few days have been a blast. Mil and Jeng are back, and the others are coming back soon too. Jeng, Amali and I are planning loads of stuffs. Oi Arun, stop going to Tutong saja, come jalan with us jua lol. Kidding man. We understand =p Anyways I can't wait for next week with the plans and stuff.

I have a thing for speed, planes and thrill rides. My dad used to fill up his spare time building customised radio controlled planes (before he discovered golf lol) and used to bring me along to barren fields to watch him fly his gadgets with his mates. I used to adore his planes but this here, Ladies&Gentlemen...tops everything. Just take a look at the video below and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Yes I've run out of names for my post titles lol.

Nothing much is up. I've been spending the past couple of days being lazy at home. It actually feels good you know haha.

I went to my nini's weekly tahlil for the first time in a month last Saturday. It was nice to see them cousins and relatives again. I took some pictures but I think I'll just post them up in my family's blog, that is, if I'm motivated enough haha. We all went sakai with that space-age Monopoly game that uses credit cards! haha.

Jeng just called me a few minutes ago! He just came back from Brizzy via S'pore a few minutes ago. We were supposed to go out this evening but nyehhh it got postponed to tomorrow. Bah, since I'm feelin oh-so-good and rajin right now, I better blog about last Saturday.

Although I won't type a lot..hahaha. I mean rajin as in rajin upload the pictures! It takes ages I tell you. I'm too lazy to compress the file size =)

Okay okay, so it was SMSS (PDS, or whatever you wanna call it) prom night, or gala night (again, whatever you wanna call it) which was held in Rizqun's VIP Hall. Being a part of the PDS alumni, Amali and I came along. Together with Kevin and Leah, we represented last year's batch haha kesian it wasn't a big turn out. But the night was a blast!

*OH SHITTTTT, NOO!!!*

To my horror, it was already 3.00 am! I didn't stay up for my 18th birthday countdown! hahaha how bloody sad is that. I had a few long days prior to my birthday so I just had to sleep after Maghrib and was pretty confident of waking up before 12. Taie kau suf. Anyways, being half-awake, I was only able to read a few sms birthday greetings and all of them were very close to the stroke of midnight. Then *boom* I went back to sleep. But of course I replied once I woke up in the morning =) Thanks guys :D

My maths teacher, Mr. Stephen, wanted to throw a mini birthday party for Qawi and I. So yeah I was obliged to come to school although I was really malas too.

I came to school rather late, 10ish and when I arrived it was really quiet (with everyone else being in the audi). So I had my own quiet moment, by walking along my 'everyday' corridor, the one next to the SA section. I proceeded to my locker, for the last time. Sad huh =pI proceeded to the audi, where everybody was at that time. You bet I came right on time! Right on time for the ceremony's conclusion! I walked in with relative anonymity until Fatin spotted me. After a few more birthday greetings from me friends, the weird feeling of turning 18 finally sunk in for me.

Hafiz&DaGang sang me a 'special' birthday song and although I recorded it plus an encore version of the song, I won't post it. I mean there are underaged people reading this blog. Thanks anyways guys =p

Thanks to the people in the audi, Riki&friends, GDL-ers who sang me a birthday song! You guys SUCK, in a good way lah hahaha. No seriously, I really was touched and taken aback.

Then I went off to LT12 where Mr. Stephen wanted to throw the party. And guess what, he got Qawi and I a mango-cheese cake. MANGO-CHEESE cake?! Seriously, is that even edible? If it wasn't my birthday, I would've been on my way to the restroom to puke hahaha. So I forced myself to gobble up a slice - a huge slice I must say - of that...thing. That was really nice of you sir. Thanks again Sir! We will miss your bubbly presence next year.

This was when I got my first present of the day and...to who ever you are, I know you're reading this blog, I thank you :)

I decided to go the library after cam-whoring in the LT12 to meet up with Wanna and the others. AJ stopped me on my tracks to give me her present. Thanks AJ for the present and the game! I found the game really sweet and unique :D When I came in the library, they sang me the birthday song again! haha I was bloody touched and surprised alright!

I hung out with Fatin, Ina, Amin, Qamarul and the computer people in the ICT lab while waiting to go home. Since their teacher wanted some time alone with her students, I went off with (i forgot siapa =p) to Haziq&hisgang's party. By this time, the birthday song was already stuck on my head and yeah you guessed it, they sang it to me again! but damn it was still very touching haha. Most of them were done eating by the time I came in, no wonder they were high. Oh well, I'll let the pictures do the talking then!

Since Wardah and Muh couldn't make it for dinner, I decided to bring them out in the afternoon :) pizza hut! Pandai si Wardah atu pick places, di luar mall lagi tu, on a rainy day. Sense the sarcasm there haha. I had a great time with both of you! And thank you for the birthday cake surprise, that was WICKED!

After both Wardah and Muh balik, I went off to meet Vern who was happily window-shopping. Since it was still quite early, we sat down and had a good chat, kan vern? haha. It was raining outside so we had to endure the rain while walking to RMS Diners. Si Vern jaga rambutnya. hahaha nadadeh. I eventually stayed in RMS Diners from 6.30-11!

We started eating at 8, cos apparently my friends live in places that have a huge time difference to Gadong. haha kidding guys :p

Wow, the last few days have been, have been long. Memorable. Awesome. Sad in some ways too. Brabis...hahaha. Im sorry for the lack of updates, my weekend is not over yet but since I'm awake now I think I oughta start updating yes? =)

But before that, I'd like to express my gratitude to everyone who was there to celebrate with me, who greeted me, who gave me cards and presents, and to those who sang birthday songs for me, you guys suck hahaha. In a good way of course! I'll touch on this on my next post :D

25th
Arguably the saddest day for students in MD, including myself too. The feeling of leaving MD didn't really sink in for me until...yesterday? I think I should go to school later, at least for a while.

We had a mini-party thingy for my economics class. We've never really seen the emotional side of Mdm. Koh so it was pleasant to finally see a different side of her! And damn I'll be having new teachers for all my subjects next year:/

I think I shouldn't elaborate on what happened in the audi. After the urgent assembly that day, my maths class decided to drag our teacher, Mr. Stephen Chan to the ICT lab to show him a slideshow one of our classmate made since he's leaving to further his studies. It was all pretty emotional and yes I teared up since I had been holding it since the assembly haha.

A few of us stood up and gave short speeches but I don't think anything beats Mr. Stephen Chan's speech. He said the customary 'thank you to blablabla' before stopping dead on his tracks and cried. Man =\

26th
I spent the wee hours of that day making my speech. I was caught in a dilemma, I mean, it's my birthday eve and I'm soaked in the holiday mood thus I slacked off lah :/ but I don't like to lose haha. I thought I did a reasonably good job on my given topic and injected a lot of humour into a rather mundane topic.

I can't blame the poor sound system since it was a handicap to all the speakers but my microphone stand was being moved around in the middle of my speech! Sigh. I personally detest the runner-up position as its..so close yet so far. 2nd place just means that you're the first loser hahaha.

Anyways congrats to the winner Alyssa, 3rd-placed Prashanth, Azeem and Rikianna. Alyssa did her 'job' (inside joke) well and deserved it. Prashanth's a very cool and laid-back guy hahaha was a pleasure hanging out with him. Goodluck for next year guys since both of you are staying in MD, but I'll be seeing you guys during BGIC! Wait, I just realised that all 5 of us are joining BGIC next year haha.

After the competition and all the formalities were done, I went to the library and Wanna and her big-ass camera was there, so apa lagi =p

Anyways guys I'm sorry for the lack of updates. I thought that after the exams I would be a free bird, but it turns out that I still have a 'leg' attached to my 'cage' if you get what I mean.

But nooooo, I had testS (notice that its in plural form) and that speech thingy. Mustafa managed to lure me into joining it haha screw you man!!! but Alhamdulillah I've gone through to the finals although I was shaking like a vibrator during the qualifying session this afternoon haha. I'm so screwed on Wednesday!

My fellow earthlings,

This week has been pretty routine for me, well after you minus the fact that my dad's wallet got stolen by a monkey in the golf course (HAHAHA). He got it back though after his friend through a huge chunk of wood at it, otherwise I wouldnt dare to laugh about it lol. Oh and I bumped into Kevin yesterday after not seeing for him almost a year. And he's fat now (at least by his standards lol). But, sigh it's quite surreal to see how 365 days can change a lot of things :/ I miss my ex-classmates!

I have two more tests next week, the year's last tests! I can't wait to get over them and finally click on the cruise control button. Fine, actually I'm already in cruise control mode, except that it keeps switching on and off haha.

Aint you guys excited that the holidays are coming?
Doh of course you guys are. Oh and Amali and I are planning to join the HSBC Young Entrepeneur thingy, you know we might as well make good use of the holidays. Lagipun, the deadline batah lagi so yeah haha. It won't be easy (spelling the word 'entrepreneur' is hard enough) and itll be a long shot but whatever =p.

Dad told me that he went to watch my Ngah Yassin hang glide somewhere in Tutong this afternoon and that really re-ignited my interest to try it! My uncle keeps bragging about the serene blue skies and the beautiful view down below that he gets to see from up there. I haven't asked my dad nor uncle yet pulang but I'm sure my dad will get all sakai too, mau mau tia kan cuba jua haha. I have this knack for thrill rides and extreme sports (Y). I think I'm gona die young =p

As promised, updates from last Saturday!

Malkan and I went off to Sweet Deli to help Arun pick up his girlfriend's birthday cake and boy, the streets were realllly jammed, especially when you consider that it was at 9-10 in the morning! It took me almost an hour to pick up the cake and buy all the spoons, forks, plastic plates, drinks blablabla.

And credits to the school canteen for being nice enough to store the birthday cake until lunch time! Makanan kamu nyaman! (this is a free promo for you guys so nada hutang lagi ah haha)

Anyways lets fast forward:

We went to McD soon after that

The day was superrr hot btw. Walking to and fro between MD and McD (whoa it rhymes lol) and the fact that I wasn't feeling well took a toll on me. I felt terrible, kinda like a cross in between the sensation of vomiting and passing out (labih tia) but nahh I think its one of those kind of high fevers you get once or twice a year. Hence, I was absent from school on monday =D not funny, I was suffering on my bed on that day.

At 2, Izzati 'sneaked into' MD. My dear, the way you entered the compound wasn't exactly JamesBond-like and although you tried to disguise yourself by wearing the MD uniform, I don't think you managed to prevent heads from turning! Nadawah, it's not really considered sneaking in you know, cause you're always welcomed back there =) Plus she actually did some of her homeworks, as she promised earlier. Amazing, I salute you! But in between, apa lagi =p:

Plans to re-allocate a big portion of MD students to the new campus in Katok have apparently been scrapped, according to what I've been told from reliable sources. So much for all the talk eh?=p

just some examples of the many many social networking sites that are the 'in' thing nowadays. I'm guilty of being a member of many of these networks but nahhh I don't have that much time to be really active in it =p I mean, with A-levels being the way it is and the more outgoing life I have now, managing and prioritising my time is actually a must for me nowadays lol.

Speaking of networking sites, my dad has been busy creating our family tree network on Geni.com. He's been quite enthusiastic about it and with the help of some of my cousins, we're already connected with 150,000 other people! I don't know how the hell can that happen but that's what the stats tells us. Anyways since its a busy period for me, Dad has been maintaining my profile in Geni and that's not exactly a good thing if you consider that he has a knack of uploading embarassing, old photos of myself haha.

I'll try to blog more nowadays and not try to miss out on any 'bloggable' stuffs!

So I'll start with last Friday, the 7th.

Went for a game of golf in the morning despite catching very little sleep the night before. I had two papers the day before so I was mentally tired too. Ended up playing quite okay though.

I was planning to take my customary afternoon nap after the friday prayers but Arun texted me asking me to accompany him to shop for his gf's present and being the good friend *cough* i am, i obliged! nadawahh, i wanted to go out anyways. Gadong was really packed btw. It seemed like everyone was there. And I saw tons of people! We ended up getting the present in Kiulap though and to Arun's girlfriend, you're a lucky gal! hahaha. I got a lil something something for Fatin and Izzati too =)

Ok...

I'm officially high now, in a retarded way. You obviously can't really tell through these words but this sense of hyperness is stopping me from studying tonight. The only good thing is, this will keep me awake (and concentrated) deep into the night. I likeeee last minute studying *gives retarded face*

Maybe its the coffee, maybe its the 13-hour sleep I had yesterday. Maybe it's the Russell Peters and Mr. Bean clips I've been viewing through youtube recently. But nehhh it's the coffee hehehehe. Wait, I think its due to all this studying for the exams. Yep dazzz right!

I promise I'll update properly this weekend! =) oh tomorow's 'VIP' day, die lah diee dieeee...haha nadadeh. It'll be alright, hopefully.

Both of my econs paper will be on Thursday and I'm pinning some hopes on that subject, but this afternoon's lesson just made me realise how rusty I still am in the AS syllabus (we've moved on to the A2 syllabus for a few weeks already), which is why I'm cutting short this entry lol.

Sorry for the lack of updates (berapa kali sudah ku cakap ni) haha but I've got a life =p I'm kidding, I'm not gona ditch this blog anytime soon haha. I'm in the midst of my AS Level exams, so yeah.

By the way, Nadzri's back for a week to take his Malay O Level paper to have a shot for a scholarship since he took his IGCSE in Taiwan and is currently doing his IB there. Sleptover at his place on Saturday night together with Amali, had a blast! It was kinda cute to see how worried was his mom regarding his malay. Haha it'll be a piece of cake for u mannnn. I'll blog more about that later, hopefully, if I have the time lol.

For the first time in 7-8 years, I'll be spending my December in Brunei haha. But I think November and December should be pretty occupied with activities like umm. Haha I'm turning 18 late next month (guys, I like surprises ah=p), so I'm gona be applying for a driver's license. The cultural night performance, oratory competition, BGIC preparations and other activities should hinder myself from being a couch potato. Plus, I'm considering a part-time job after my Dad recommended some to me (I'm not gona tell where haha).

And I can't wait to catch up with those ex-classmates and friends who are coming back for holidays this December. Even those who are still here locally but in different schools, damn, we should have a reunion guys. I miss you guys and last year a lot :/

Sorry guys I havent been updating much of late! I've been quite busy due to the exams and yes the raya is mood is still in ze air although it's starting to subside already. I'm kind of short of time here...soo ill make it short and simple aite!

I went out raya-ing on saturday with Izzati and some other friends. Firstly we went to AJ's open house, then to my house and then zoomed off to Zati's house. After the maghrib prayers I went off with Zati and her sisters to Cigu Noraini's open house. I met lots of my ex-teachers and some ex-schoolmates and it was nice catching up with them once again. Such is the essence of Aidilfitri ey? haha. It was quite a long day (I had golf in the morning) and by the end of the day I was so tired that I snoozed off for awhile while listening to Zati and the others karaoke-ing! Yeah it might not seem a lot but I had tonss of fun! It was awesome seeing Zati again =) For a more detailed account of what happened, click here.

My family has this sort of weekly gathering thingy every Saturday night at my grandmother's house where we have mass prayers and dinner together. Obviously I had to skip last week's gathering (and the previous few weeks lol) and my dad told me the next morning that they had a blast viewing some old ancient 'stone-age' pictures of my family. And with a cheeky grin he also told me that...they played loads of fireworks! Of all the nights, it just had to be that night haha. But hey I had a blast myself so I've no regrets ;)

First of all, I wanna apologise to those who's open houses I wasn't able to attend. Especially to Fatin, dua kali sudah kau open house but I still wasn't able to make it, sigh sorry :/ I miss your mom's mee basah! Nantitah ah, I might pop in for a casual raya visit. I had too little time for too many open houses. Plus, I can't really go flat out on raya-ing this year since my AS levels are fast approaching ya know =)

But oiii I'm not trying to shoo away the Raya spirit or anything haha. There are quite a number of open houses this weekend too given that its a long weekend (saturday's a public holiday, baru ku tau tadi hahaha). I'm not good with numbers but I think I have more open houses invites this week compared to last week. Anyways, kalau kan beraya to my place just inform me in advance alright. It's rather easy to navigate your way to my house. You see, my house is supposed to be 'No.250', without a simpang number, simply because we don't have a junction (simpang) leading to our house cos its literally next to the main road. A few months ago, a signboard saying 'Simpang250' was erected right beside our main gate. JKR sure has a sense of humour....So how is it going to be? Picture me calling Pizza Hut for a delivery:

Pizza Hut: 'Pizza Hut Delivery, your address sir?'

Me: 'Simpang 250, Kg. blabla Jalan yadayadayada'

Pizza Hut: 'Simpang 250, no. brapa sir?'

Me: 'No number'

Pizza Hut: 'Sir, we need your house number'

Me: 'Nadaaaaaaaa they took it away from us'

Sigh, giving people directions to my house has never been easy. Its quite ironic since my house is located just beside the main road haha.

Luqman's Open House

Arun and I went off to Luqman's open house for a while a few days ago. There wasn't a lot of people, well the guys, KA and the gang were there. After all the girls left and everyone was done eating, a familiar topic came up in our conversation. It was about the 'shoulder-ed' topic that i mentioned in my previous post haha. Who said guys can't bitch? To prove that, I recorded a short portion of our 'bitching' session.

A year of falling iv finally landed. All my hopes and dreams ended in that one moment. A fall full of joy and pain ended with the most painful of landings. A crash. I thought i could fly but guess not. I thank you for softening my landing. even though there wasnt much you could do or say to erase the pain but what u did certainly made it easier to bare. I dont regret what i did that night. i wont ever look back and feel ashamed of not taking the risk and think what might have been, what could have been and what i should have done. i didnt waste a year of my life loving you. i think it was worth it. you showed me that you care and that our friendship means alot to you. that means alot to me and ill make sure that ill treasure our friendship even more. its time for me to stand back up and move on. i noe its gona be hard but ill survive i promise. i only hope for you to be happy wishing it was with me but not all wishes are granted. those few moments was the worst but in a strange and bizzare way it was also the best and sumhow i wished that that moment wouldnt end and only you could bring that kind of pleasent confusion in my mind, in my heart. Thank you. and i thank everyone whos been there for me supporting me. helping me to recover from the fall. Ill certainly benefit from this fall. iv aquired great freinds and im sure ill become stronger. Thank you.

AJ, Dinah and Fizah wanted to bring me out to McD yesterday. So I brought along Fatin and Ina. Then Afiq wanted to bring me out too with his friends but then he ended up joining me cos he was ditched by his friends since they couldnt wait for him to finish his classes lol kesian. Hafiz Sulaiman joined us too. Before I forget, Happy Birthday to you Fiz and yeah at last your legal now huh haha.

Oh yeah, we had a minor change of plans. Fizah and Dinah weren't able to make it and Fatin, Ina and I were craving for something else that wasn't McD. Since I found out at the very last minute that Luqman, KA, T-pain and the others were heading off to cheezbox so we just joined them lah. But as I found out this morning, they were actually trying to 'hide' from us..*cough* *cough* sorry dude. And yeah 'I GOT SHOULDER-ED BIG TIME' LOL inside joke.

As usual, the girls did all the picture snapping. I wish I could bring my camera more often for the sake of making this blog more lively, but I just feel uncomfortable going out with more than my phone and my wallet. You know, just the necessities. October Blues

I've been feeling a lil bit down...but anyway,

I feel like a kindy kid dreading his first day of school, or should I say kindergarten haha. I'm not ready for school, physically, mentally, emotionally, rohani-ly, jasmani-ly gila baie =(

Raya this year hasn't been any special, well not as much as before at least. Maybe its because Raya keeps overlapping the exam season these last few years, compared to let's say a decade ago where it coincided with the December holidays. The highlight over the last few days has got to be my cousin Aaron and his wife Karen coming back for the first time in many years. I thought the last few days were very short, very very short. It felt like Raya has gone even before the feeling could sink in. Do you feel the same way too? haha I bet you do too. I feel for Nadzri over there in Taiwan, just hang in there bro.

2nd day of Raya

First day of Raya, as usual was spent with family and close relatives. Well the day started off slowly until my cousin Hazim had an open house and yeah, played fireworks and stuff. The fireworks continued until we had another gathering in my grandmother's house that same night. Sorry for the lack of pictures though. Maybe arah Hazim's blog or my family (TheApongs) blog ada some pictures tu.

2nd day of Raya: So after golf in the morning, I went out with Arun in the afternoon. He came just after the friday prayers, sporting a new haircut. After grabbing a few snacks and drinks at my house (nadadeh beraya wah), off we went to...

Cigu Husaini's house! One helluva teacher. Funny as crap haha, not to mention...kuning lol. But really he's a really great teacher. Apparently he's still a die-hard Liverpool fan and since Arun's a Liverpool fan too, I got bullied. But Cigu Husaini was nice enough to cook up some TomYam especially for me and Arun so we were kinda obliged to eat lah. Caught up on a lot of stuffs, twas really nice.

Cikgu Husaini

Let me introduce to you one of my most bangang yet naturally funny friend, Qamaruzzzzzzzaman. Qamarul for short. Marul for shorter. But we usually call him Rul. Even a glimpse of his face makes you giggle. It's hard to explain, but you know almost everything he does is funny in a way. We went to his house to pick him up, tarus beraya. And finally, he shaved lol.

Then we decided to pay Cikgu Rokiah, our Malay Teacher during our Form4 and 5 years, a visit. We actually hesitated to come out of the car when we arrived in her compound since we saw lots of guests. But hey we found out that the visitors were actually our juniors back in PDS haha. So it made everything that much more fun. It was great to see them again!

Oh meet Cuddles. He's this super fluffy cat that acts like a king inside Cikgu Rokiah's house. He's well-kept and just lies on top of the sofa motionless which makes him look like a pillow when seen from the back! Pemalas eh, reminds me of my myself haha. I remember him from last year's Raya, but I thought his name wasn't Cuddles back then. Oh well..We got along quite well last year masa Raya but it tried to scratch me tadi. That's it mate I no friend you anymore.

Then off we went to Lina's open house which was quite close to where Cikgu Rokiah lives so yeah. Thanks Lina for being such a nice and sporty host (I'm serious!). But you didn't have to tell your mom that I was the guy that she *cough* haha..I can just say your mom's very nice too =p

We met Wafiuddin, Jesus and KI there too.

Leenuh, Arun and Marul

For the last stop we went to Hafiz 'Mesra's' house. Well it was a last minute plan pulang. Qamarul gave him a call and it took him 3 minutes just to take in the Simpang number lol. After getting lost in god-knows-where, Arun pulled over, gave Hafiz a call and put it on the loudspeaker.

Arun: 'hey dude its Arun. Mana your house kan? We're in the petrol station in front of Huaho Sengkurong now'

Hafiz: 'Ahh..there? bah you go straight lah'

Arun: 'Straight? Straight where? Straight is Huaho Sengkurong'

It went on for quite a long time lah, until we finally made sense of his directions haha. For some reason, Hafiz kept saying 'straight straight straight' , it was like he was trying to prove his sexual orientation or something haha. We eventually reached his house, thank god. By the time we got there Arun was dying to take a piss.

Arun: 'Fiz mana toilet?'

Hafiz: 'Straight *but he was pointing to the left*'

After sending Qamarul back home and on the way to my house, Arun and I decided to take a slight detour to take a first-hand look at the new form sixth centre in Kg. Katok that everyone's been talking about of late. Here are some (lousy) pictures that I took.

Raya has always been something very fun and exciting for me hahaha not this year though. this was the worst raya day i had ever experienced. though nothing actually went wrong or anithin but it was jst the fact that i was alone for the first time celebrating raya on my own daym. i dun think celebrating would actually be the right word to use haha i think all of us are going to face it one day or another except for some of u who might be lucky not to haha i receive some snacks from brunei today like serunding, kuihs. tarts, popiya hahaha i teared while opening them... i miss my family alot. my mom my dad, my sisters, my grands, my uncles, my aunts, my cuzns all of them.. i miss you all alot too wish i cud spend raya with u guys. to make it worst my grandads kinda sick but they say hes jst demam hopefully he'll be alright hopefully hahaha i noe u guys alum raya lagi but yea Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir dan Batin and may ur raya be better than mine =)

Im really sorie for this late blog haha realy apologize for it. i noe i sed was gona do it a few weeks back but yea been busy. REALLY BUSY lol anyway here it goes

The time in brunei was amazing. Honestly at first i kinda felt un happy and stuf. i couldnt meet up with my friends much coz kamu slalu busy hahaha so yea was pretty boring. but when it kicked off it got better. i thank you all for entertaining me. i might have been quite a burden butyea i htank u all sooo much. after it kicked off i then remmembered why i missed brunei sooooo fucking much. its u guys tht i missed alot. special thanks to WANA ISMADI for setting things up alot. im sorie for the trouble but i hope ud do it again hahaha suf thanks u too. the beach party was amazing and so was the bouncer party hahaha fun as shit. which is a good thing btw haha u guys made my summer amazing. not getting to see u guys alot has it bad times but it makes me appreciate the time we spend together soooo much more. its jst amazing how u guys could tolerate a bum like me and its very touching hahaha thanks to all of you for making my time in brunei simply outstanding. and also special thanks to those who came to the airport sending me off and also to those who even thot about coming and not being able to go. even if it was only a thot i still apreciate it hahaha it must have been difficult for u guys to come to the airport during a school day and stuff and me being late also kinda messes it up abit lol but yea thanks alot emah wana dayah qawiy and last but not least one of my fucking bestestest bros anak si kassim si hanis lol apreciate it alot guys. ima be back on the 24th only for a week though so i dun want u guys to stress too much though i wont let u guys be busy coz i wana see u guys hahaha if u guys have been readin till now i jst wana say thanks again and i miss u all alot. people here dun see wats so fun about brunei (not bein able to drink/club and shit like tht, not tht i drink btw) but the reason of tht is tht they dun have frens like u guys to celebrate ur presence u noe hahaha so yea the thing tht makes brunei most special is family and friends tht i have there. families amazing and i miss them alot. i fight alot with most of them specially my sisters but then living alone i have to admit i miss them alot. never ask to live alone ur gona miss ur family alot and also doing laundry/dishes/cooking/cleaning all sucks like hell. my house is kinda dirty 5 days of the week but i clean it during weekends or before people might come. not includin close frens hahahaha never wrote this much before 500 words i think daym wish i could write this much for hw and shit lol but yea i only work hard for things that matter to me hahaha owh yea i also wana say hai to two people iv jst got aquainted with haha who im pretty sure is a regular reader of sufs blogs hahaha zy and fatin was cool to get to noe u guys hahaha alll in all all u guys are amazing and thank you so much for making my summer full of great memories and a wonderful experience so thank you guys i noe iv sed it alot but i jst cant say it enuf to emphasize it so yea thank you so much. take care all see u soon thanks again =)

Fatin, Amali, Wanna, Dhil, Ainul, her sis and Ina (or was it Ini?=p) went to capers for sungkai on friday. Sorry Tin for the lack of accuracy in the directions lol and for being a tad late!

Anyways for some reason I felt really mean and high that day so my main victim was Wanna! We were basically bullying each other from 6-8.30 lol. Kesian eh, sorry yeah wanzieeezzzz. I was kinda high with Amali too. And no Tin, I'm not becoming vain-er hahaha. Amali and I were being clowns and couldn't stop laughing haha twas great fun!

After both Amali and Fatin went home, we followed Ina to Seri Q-lap mall cos someone *cough* wanted to try out the arcade there. I was the only guy left so my malu-ness kicked in..NOT. All of the girls had to go home by 8, except for Wanna. So I tried to force her to stay with me:

Me: 'Entah mana saja. bah at 9 tah'

Wanna: 'But I told my sis at 8.30 sudah'

The last few days have been relatively quiet for me considering that I've been out a lot lately. Just went to tuition for the last few days. Since there's nothing much interesting to blog about...

Lemme talk about Formula1! You know, lumba krita wah. The love for Formula1 runs throughout my family, both my dad's and mom's side. No no not just the males, the ladies too. And yes there's that much-anticipated SingTel Singapore Grand Prix held this weekend. Not only it will be the first street race in Asia, it'll also be the first night race ever.

I remember when my family and I were in Singapore back in June where a taxi driver made fun of the Singaporean Grand Prix.

Taxi driver: 'You come from where?'

Dad: 'Brunei...is it going to be busy around here in September, you know the *interrupted*'

Taxi driver: 'Haiyaaa! You want to watch the car racing ka? NO NO! You go back lah dun come one. Vellllyyy expensive. Everything also expensive one. Fuel expensive, tax expensive haiya. You Bruneians so lucky ah fuel so cheap, then no tax! That hotel ah *points*, the cheapest $5000 a nite during the race. All fully booked one!'

So, why is it held at night?

I'm no smartass but I've read that the main factor is to give European viewers a comfortable time to watch the race, since apparently most of the avid Formula1 fans are, well, Europeans. The race will start at 1200 GMT a.k.a 8pm local time so it should be in the afternoon for them. This will in turn boost TV ratings and generate money for Formula1, and its big boss, the multi-billionaire Mr. Bernie Ecclestone. By the way, 'Formula1' is actually a company. He's already warned that if the Malaysian and Australian Grand Prix don't run their races at night by the next few years, its byebye for them.

Ok ok I don't want to bore you with all this crap. But just for your info, I'm a big Ferrari fan. Yeah I can smell lots of McLaren fans haha.

Motorsports aint the biggest thing in Brunei is it? Its definitely due to the lack of proper facilities over here. Well I'm sure its not due to the lack of interest, I mean come on, the local die hard go-kart enthusiasts have to go all the way to Miri just to race or even train. Why not we use all the money collected from those illegal racing, and build a decent circuit where we can put all those illegal steet racers, to finally legally race. Maybe we could spot a worthy racing talent or two you know.

1. I tend to squint a lot, especially when the sun's rays are quite strong.

2. I believe I lose more weight when I sleep a lot rather than when I work out or do cardio exercise a lot.

3. When I put my arms and legs next to each other, their contrasting skin tones make them look as if it's a zebra crossing.

4. The fingers on my left hand are slightly longer and thinner.

5. I can move both my ears, both my eyebrows, the bones on my knuckles. I'm still working on my tongue though.

6. 75% of the time, I wake up with my legs resting on my pillow and my head resting on the edge of the bed, sometimes hanging. So I counter it by going to sleep backwards so I'll wake up with my head on the pillow instead.

7. I love cooking but I don't like to bake.

8. My average shower time is 7 minutes. No, it doesn't include brushing my teeth or all those other activities you do inside the bathroom.

9. I usually sleep 3-5 hours during the weekdays then retreat and hibernate for 12 hours or more during the weekends.

10. I don't like durians.

11. I don't like subjects with lots of numbers. I much prefer essay type or structured questions.

12. The older I get, the 'cooler' I think it is to hang out with my own family. I mean I enjoy family gatherings/outings more nowadays.

13. My right sideburn grows significantly faster than my left.

14. I used to prefer to have heaps of friends that I don't necessarily know well of. Nowadays I keep a smaller, but much much tighter circle of friends :)

15. I can fall asleep anywhere, anytime and almost on command.

Ok it was partly my fault for being a nitwit and endlessly delaying backing-up my precious files. Well I had an excuse. I had almost 10GB of what I deem as 'precious files' a.k.a pictures, videos, documents from the yesteryears and I only have a 4GB pendrive and another 1GB pendrive. My dad's external hard drive is almost full. I've been out almost everyday lately so I keep forgetting to ask my mom and my sister for help on that. Lots of memories lost there, sighhhh. Not to mention, a lil bit of songs too. Big sighh..no, big shittttt. I'll just try to gather back all my lost pictures and videos from friends nanti.

Then when I tried to switch on my PC this evening, the dreaded 'blue screen' popped up. The 'blue screen' is the equivalent of a death curse, in PC terminology. So obviously I had no other choice but to reformat the whole system. And currently my desktop looks so..empty. Looks so naked haha.

Where have I been the last few days?

Honestly, I find it hard myself to recall. I've been out quite a lot that I get the dates tangled up a bit haha. You know holidays are here when that happens right.

BUT, I won't ever forget Saturday. Ask Arun =p He's an ice cool guy and thus its hard to tell whether he's high or not. And apparently on Saturday, he was high, very high. Kicking a bowling ball, doing multiple rounds in a roundabout and last but not least, letting his car fly (yes literally) and almost hitting a guy. Yes it was scary but I swear it was funny =p and thrilling lol. And all of that came without warning.

'I can't believe I was that stupid' -words from Arun 30 minutes after our stunt. It's okay man, Amali and I had fun too. Once in a lifetime kan? But you better go back there and apologize to that guy lol kdin. So guys, if you happen to pass by that bumpy downhill old road on top of a hill in chempaka, don't step on the gas ok? haha. I just wish that Arun had warned me earlier so I could take a video of that ride =p

Anyways, happy belated birthday to Amin. Thanks for sungkai yesterday min. And happy advanced birthday to dayah!

P/S: I promised Fatin that I would create a facebook account (yeah like, finally) and I just did. So guys, add me up. And please tell me how to use it because I really have no clue whatsoever! haha

I don't really know what to blog about. Hmm...

I'll start with yesterday. I had a last minute plan with Fatin and Arun to go out. Yeah, we were VERY bored. It was such a last-minute plan, that we had not planned anything besides a movie at 2.30pm. But it was still 11.30 and there we were, in my garage thinking of where to go haha. So we decided to head off to PTEB and maybe persuade some of our old classmates there to catch a movie with us. And we managed to drag Amali and Tan. After stopping by for a pitstop in Amali's house for him to change his clothes, went off for the movie. Yadayadayada...the movie was alright. Sad and funny at the same time haha.

I had to go home for sungkai as I had tuition later that night. Thanks Arun for the ride back home!

Arif and I got nominated for this Japan education trip thingy on Saturday just after our Thinking Skills exam, together with another guy. But since all of us are sitting for the Math AS level this November and it clashes with the dates, we were instantly scrapped off this list. Sigh...That ruined my mood after a rather satisfying exam paper haha.

To Mom & Dad

Like any other child, I inherit a lot from my parents. And by that I'm not only referring to my mom's nose and ears, or my dad's eyes and naturally straight hair (umm..when he had hair lol). I'm talking about personality traits that I inherit from my parents that make Yusof Fadli Bin Hj Sidek, Yusof Fadli Bin Hj Sidek.

Personally, I believe that I inherit more from my dad. I got my sense of humour from my dad, hands down. I'm not saying that my mom aint funny but my dad's just awesome when it comes to teasing people and being the clown in a gathering, especially family gatherings. He thrives in making people laugh which makes family gatherings that much more fun. And yes I feel very lucky and proud of my dad! no no, no sarcasm intended haha. You can ask any of my family members and they'll tell you that I'm almost a carbon copy of my dad when it comes to having fun and pulling practical jokes. So if you think I'm annoying, try go camping with my dad for a night hahaha.

Just like my dad, I'm an extrovert and I find it quite easy to get along with people especially with strangers. But yet again, just like my dad, I keep my inner thoughts and feelings in the 6 six inches between my ears and only share them with my circle of close friends.

It's so easy to assume that my dad has worked as a clown in a circus before because he almost never shows any signs of affection, even within the household. He just goes about his own business at home, talks about his passions-whether it be gardening, golf, planes or historical facts- and then cracks up a joke or two. Even when I had accomplished or won something which will get my mom all hyped up that she would run up and give me a hug that'll suffocate me, he'll just look at me in the eyes and smile. Never has he ever said the word 'Thank you', 'Sorry' and 'Congratulations' to me, never. It took me quite some time to understand this part of him. I can't believe it took me until my teenage years to figure out that beneath that cheeky smile of his, lies the sweetest soul a dad can have. A soul that has a muted voice but has the purest and best intentions. 'Thank you', 'Sorry' and 'Congratulations' are words that are hard to come by from my dad. And I realised that I seldom say those words to my friends, especially to my closer friends, when necessary. I'm really sorry guys! My actions speak louder than my words, so the absence of those words do not necessarily reflect how I feel yeah? I guess those words are more or less implied when the time calls for it :)

My love for planes, travelling, golf and fireworks came from my dad. Especially now that it's Ramadhan, it's time to stock up on fireworks! Ironically my dad seems to be more excited than I am in buying fireworks this year. The older I get, the more he treats me less like a child and more like his bestfriend which is really awesome. And these three things - planes, golf and fireworks - run through my bloodline as four of my uncles play golf, one is a pilot and the other is involved with aerospace engineering, and fireworks, we all play fireworks don't we? haha. Since most of my relatives from my dad's side live within a neighbourhood, we would traditionally have some sort of 'badil' competition on the eve of Hari Raya.

I got my competitiveness from my mom. My mom's a perfectionist and she hard-wired that attitude into me from a very young age. I-hate-losing, in everything. Whether it be losing in a casual golf match with my dad and uncles or losing academically. Being runner-up just means that you're the first loser. Initially it was very hard for me to cope with this attitude, after all, nothing's perfect right? Why work towards something that's impossible to achieve? But my mom showed me that by striving to be 'perfect' actually makes the road to excellence shorter. Its hard to explain, so I'll skip this lol. I always try my best in everything and when things do not go my way, my short fuse kicks in and that's a fault that I'm still working on. As I said, nothing or no one is perfect right? :) Not that I'm going to use it as an excuse though.

Ok I'm not a Readers Digest author, so I apologize if the post is short. I think I'm missing something there. But it's way past midnight and I'm sleepy already. I'm off to sleep now. Oh by the way I got my 'staying up late' gene from my Mom. lol

When boredom strikes

Yes yes I've changed the template. Haha I thought it was time for a change and hey, I think the colours are easier on the eyes. It gives a whole new more 'open' feel to the page.

I've one more paper left, one LAST one for my exams, which is the Thinking Skills 2 paper. And it's four days away! I feel so empty now. You know, its that feeling when you're faced with a long holiday and you do not have any major plans whatsoever haha. But hey, it's nice to finally have ample time for myself.

Sorry for the short post, I think I'm heading off for another afternoon nap now. A bullet point on my now almost empty to-do list, to 'regulate my sleeping hours' haha.

My end of year exam is in a weeeeeeek's time! I think I'm doing ok with my revision with my subjects, except for physics I guess. I'm allergic to physics. Thanks Sir Isaac Newton, you and your falling apple! And to make matters worse, my first three papers are, yes you guessed it, physics papers.

Moving on...

Saturday was fun! Me, Arun and Andrew went off to PTEB during lunch to check up on our ex-PDS classmates. Well, Andrew went there to meet his *cough* girlfriend. We didn't really see them as we settled in the canteen and the lovebirds wandered around the campus but boy, you could tell he had fun =p His face was red as a tomato and he was smiling all the way back to MD. Bastard =p haha.

Anyways, Arun and I met Amali, Shahrain and Qah. Since they had classes, we went off to the canteen where we hung out with Nazz and her friends! Oh and she actually believed me when I told her that me and Arun were secret agents sent from MD to compare MD's canteen food with PTEBs'. And no I haven't told her that it was a joke =p

Next on the agenda is to surprise Izzati! =D (I like surprising people haha) Fatin came early with her home-made cookies. Twas a surprise too haha=p Obviously, I told Fatin not to tell Izzati that I was coming. So, after sending Andrew back to the school gym, we went to Kokoberry where I got Zati a shake and her all-time favourite, Crispy Crepes with peanut butter =) Then off we went to her house. Thanks Arun for the ride. Sometimes I think you still feel guilty about my knee last year lol.

And yes the rest is history haha. Had a blast! and yes she was surprised!;p Sorry for the lack of pictures though.

Last but not least, goodluck Zati for your first day in school tomorrow. I miss you! =(

First of all, I wanna congratulate those who did well in their O-level or AS-level exams! =D

To those who did not achieve their goals, its n-o-t the end of the world guys so let this lesson ignite your determination to try harder next time (esehman) haha. But okay on a more serious note, don't be too hard on yourselves.

Speaking of exams, my end of year exams are within a fortnight and how's my revision progressing? Well I don't think we can ever be 'ready' enough for an exam right? Just to protect myself from complacency =) and no I'm not saying I'm satisfied with how revision's going so far haha.

Ahh...I still think there's a better way than to leave our future to be decided by a few sheets of paper a.k.a exam papers =\

Me, Fatin and Arun went to the UK exhibition thingy in Rizqun after our classes. Damn it was really crowded. I bumped into countless familiar faces, some of whom I can't really recall their names or even how they are related to me. Sorry guys! At least I smiled back haha.

Then I continued walking a few steps and turned around to Fatin.

Me: TIN! She looks awfully familiar. I think she's my mom's colleague. I know Ive seen her somewhere. Wait I think Ive seen her around during family functions or stuffs!

Basically those kind of thoughts went through my mind for half of the afternoon haha.

Happy Belated Birthday, Hakim & Goh

On Tuesday, Sir Stephen wanted to throw a surprise 2-in-1 belated birthday party for both Hakim and Goh since we had math class in the afternoon!

Since Sir can't drive, he put me in charge as the 'cake collector'. Duty time: Lunchtime. Me, being a dodo accepted the task but I didn't realise that my driver would be busy at that time. And asking my other friends for a lift would be injustice for them.

So me and Ahmad instantly turned into angels and walked alllllll the way to sweet deli under the hot.scorching.sun to collect the cake (you guys better throw me and Ahmad a huge birthday bash! haha). And its an ice cream cake! Smart move Sir..very smart. What's the probability that an ice cream cake will melt when steamed under the hot sun for a good 10-15 mins? haha okay scratch that.

All in all, we had a blast! I'll let the pictures do the talking then =) (sorry they're not in order by the way)
